The Dark Side of the Moon

Published December 21, 2010

A composite of some shots of the Lunar Eclipse yesterday. These photos really don’t do justice to how cool it looked towards the end, though it was worth it staying up past 3:00am to witness in person (contrary to what my frozen toes & fingers tell me). Apparently, the last time a lunar eclipse fell on the Winter Solstice was in 1638!

Photo info: D700 with 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6; ISO 100: 1/320sec @ f/7.1
(First time using interval shooting mode; 1 exposure taken every 10 minutes for 1 hour on tripod)
