Project 52 // Week 10 :: The Champ is Here
Published March 13, 2010
Tonight, I got to witness greatness along with 50,000+ other fight fans in Arlington, TX. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao defeated Joshua Clottey in a unanimous decision after 12 hard fought rounds and an impressive 832 punch differential.
A lot of Pacman haters downplay fans of the furious fisted Filipino, saying they’re bandwagoners of the sport and that “they don’t even know what weight class he fights in.” Well, I say that’s BS…they should be thankful boxing has ambassador that transcends what many consider a dying sport.
Manny is about the fans, he’s a God fearing man, and has respect for his opponents, so it’s no wonder he’s got a whole country behind him.
I read many a tweet & status update that the fight was boring, but in person the place was buzzing. Cowboy stadium was truly something else — even as a Giants fan, I really couldn’t hate on the grandeur of the arena. Tons of Filipinos running amuck and the energy was electric.
Mayweather – you’re up next (hopefully)!
